Hi, my name is Santiago Molina, and here's what I'm listening to, looking at, and reading:
-
A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara: Ok, I don’t think this book needs an introduction. Before I read it, I looked it up on TikTok, and all the videos were people crying, so I had to. I’m not going to get into the plot of the book and stuff, but it took me more than six months to get through it. It’s a really hard book to read, not because it’s bad, but because it’s so heart-wrenching; not even a Jeff Buckley song has made me feel this way. For me, the two things that really hit me were the chapter of The Happy Years, and this sentence: Willem Listening to Jude Tell a Story. All I can say is in a way, Jude St. Francis has helped me choose to heal. I think I need a book club to discuss this book, or a therapy session, to be honest. I'm not over it.

-
Dime by Silvana Estrada: Silvana is a Mexican musician and songwriter, and I’ve been obsessed with her ever since I saw her sing at Festival Estereo Picnic in Bogotá, Colombia. Plus, loving the whole vibe of the song’s music video. Another one of my favorites from her music is "Como un Pájaro." Silvana with Carla Morrison and Natalia Lafourcade is my Mexican Holy Trinity of lover baddies.

Alexander Skarsgård is, in fact, a sext bi*ch. I’m not sure if this picture is even real. All I know is that I’ve been obsessed with this man for a few weeks now. I’m not a fan of nepotism (he is the son of the actor Stellan Skarrsgård, you definitely know, look him up), but in this case, he and his brother have proven themselves. I think I first saw him in Big Little Lies, which is one of my favorite TV shows. Who doesn’t love a divorced or about to divorce middle-aged woman who looks younger, wearing a cardigan, drinking wine, and looking at the horizon, questioning all her life decisions? Sorry, I went off topic. I’m very excited about his new movie Pillion, the directorial debut of Harry Lighton, where Skarsgård plays an enigmatic biker who starts a BDSM relationship with a timid gay man played by Harry Potter actor Harry Melling.

I’m not done with Alexander Skarsgård yet. This was the outfit he recently wore for the London red carpet of Pillion. The look was by Paris designer Ludovic de Saint Sernin, which included a backless top. I didn’t know anything about this designer, but I will definitely be reaching out once my red carpet moment comes.

Before deactivating Instagram and taking a break from social media, I had found this Instagram profile called @downloaded. I don’t know how to describe it, but it’s the type of profile I love to follow, very specific vibe, and just cool stuff. This is the vibe of stuff they post. Give it a follow, be a cool diva.
Even though this article didn’t make it into my top 5 of the week, I thought it was still worth mentioning. I usually read an article with my morning coffee, and yesterday my pick was The Hunt for the World's Oldest Story by Manvir Singh from the New Yorker. The article basically talks about how there’s this anthropologist theory that there is a key to all mythologies, that all the myths and legends we know come from one single place, one single civilization thousands of years ago. I usually find my morning articles in the Paris Review, Aeon, and the New Yorker also never fails.
Ok bye,
XOXO.
